Bones?

You were right. You've--he's--just arrived. I don't know how it happened, but Piper requested a transfer and they've sent me Dr. Leonard McCoy.

Fancy that.

Anyway, looks like I missed some excitement, but I can't say I'm not relieved.

In the sense that people usually mean "excitement" in a positive sense, or in the sense that it just wasn't that much action?

It wasn't that much action.

We're alright. You and yours?

I see. Good.

Fine. Some crew change-ups, but nothing big. Which, after recent events, is the way I want it.

You weren't the only one to miss it. From what I've heard, it wasn't the best of times though, so. Maybe it's for the best.

Oh, when I say "miss," it is not with regret, Jack. You lucked out, though?

I did. Ianto and Sulu weren't so lucky, however. Haven't heard too much about it yet, though. I'd imagine whatever happened, I should just be glad that I wasn't involved and was blissfully unaware of what was happening at the time.

It was definitely some excitement. By some, I mean a lot. And by excitement, I mean, "I never want to do that again."

The days were nice, though.

Yeah. The community doesn't really do things that hurt you - well. I mean, not permanently.

Do not call me Bones.

I'm sorry?

I wasn't speaking to you, m'am. I don't even know your name.

You are acquainted with another forensic anthropologist?

I am Dr. Temperance Brennan.

Pleasure, Doctor. I'm Jim Kirk. And I wasn't speaking to a forensic anthropologist, though it would be most interesting. I have an acquaintance called Bones, a Dr. Leonard McCoy.
