Supernatural: It's Thursday, How About Some Music?

Jun 26, 2008 13:46

I don't sing in the shower.

Mainly because I’m usually not awake enough for coherency, let alone trying to string both tune and lyric together.

However, I am one of those people who sing in the car.

I don’t murmur or softly hum along. I’m the one who opens up the sunroof, rolls down the windows, opens mouth wide and belts it out as loud as possible ( Read more... )

Another reason for the changing of the blog idea was so that certain inmates *coughBubbleGirlcoughPuddleGirlcoughGoatGirlcough* could use their new little icons that Puddle Girl created on something "lighter" than what I had originally written. Go ahead, wicked ones. You know you've been plotting - er - wanting to. :-)

I'd say we were busted, but I suspect you just want to enjoy seeing your friend. ;)

I guess we should have kept it more on the down-low, huh, Whimsy?

Excellent blog Keeper! I was not into classic rock before the show, and while I can't say that I listen to much outside of the songs that Supernatural features, I do fully enjoy those songs. Plus, it'a awesome the way that they can make scenes from Supernatural just pop into your head when you're out and about in the world and the music appears somewhere. Because anything that reminds me of Supernatural is a good thing.

Quite a few of the classic rock bands make their way through Buffalo during our many concert series of the summer, but unfortunately I haven't had time to go see any of them. I think we had Boston and Three Dog Night play here recently ( I actually know the one guy from Three Dog Night, he's in my boardgaming group, though he's too busy to show up very often).

All of this reminds me that when I get home I have to burn a new Supernatural cd, both because I have to add the recent acquisitions (like Bon Jovi) and becuase I wore out my first one and half the songs skip.

Thanks Sarie! I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Because anything that reminds me of Supernatural is a good thing,

Amen, sister!! I agree wholeheartedly!

Three Dog Night is actually here tonight. I started to get tickets but my girlie wants to go see the Broadway prod. of Lion King and that's taking most of my money that isn't earmarked for Chicago. Bummer!

Did you get the new CD burned??

Didn't get the cd burned yet - I'm actually on vacation, so it's on my list of things to do when I'm back home on Sunday.

I'm seriously thinking of looking into this Chicago I keep hearing about...

Great blog, Keeper!

Yes, the music is as much a beloved character as our boys. I sure hope we get some more music in S4...it's been sorely missed by the inmates!

REO Speedwagon is playing at SterlingFest this year. I'm giddy at the thought & I'm not even that big of an REO fan.

Rap ... it was Shadow that brought my attention to Steve for the first time ... and he wasn't even singing! :-)

Enjoy REO ... just remember ... they're singing from the hair. Atleast that's what Dean says. *snickers*

I really did miss the music this season. I hope they can find a way to bring it back.

Thank you for this, Cindy! My Supernatural-related big playlist of songs that either were used in the show or remind me of it runs to around 180 songs, and runs for hours. I'm still surprised when my psychic iPod flips up the perfect song for the moment.

And I laughed out loud on my way to the comic shop yesterday (alas, their distributor screwed up and the latest Rising Son issue won't arrive until next week!) when I saw a sign that REO Speedwagon will be playing in a local venue this weekend, especially since my aforementioned psychic iPod was serving up "Back On The Road Again" at the time!

The only other shows that I remember serving up music so well were Roswell (I still remember Izzie noting that Max only listened to Counting Crows when he was depressed as "Amy Hit the Atmosphere" played, and Liz dancing with Future!Max to Sheryl Crow), and on occasion, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and The X-Files. But I don't remember any of them being as consistently spot-on with the perfect song for the perfect moment as Supernatural. I think ( ... )

First off ... I love the icon. *snif*

Glad you enjoyed it my dear Professor. Thanks for the info on the various music moments in other shows. I honestly couldn't think of any.

I love the fact that Phil Scgriccia is going to be working to bring one of my all time favorite books "Wizards First Rule" to television *pauses to pray yet again that they do it right* but I will miss him from our show. He was the mastermind behind Renegade and so many other combinations. Hopefully his legacy will be continued.
