His first suspicion was that some kind of mass murder had taken place overnight after he’d gone to sleep--one in which the Petrelli family, finally folding under the weight of their forced holiday cheer, had laced each other’s glasses with arsenic and fallen down dead one after the other whilst still holding pleasant, civilized conversation about such concerns as the rising price of petrol.

lmao, somehow that situation doesn't seem that farfetched with them. Great chapter and congratulations on your win!

You totally deserve the award, Claude is very sharp in this fic. I'm liking getting to know Claire as well. She's not my favourite character, but I you're exploring her character well. And the intro to this chapter is totally win. *applauds*

Wow, thanks so much! Claude has been a fun and challenging character for me to write, so it's very exciting and a little surreal to have won an award for his characterization. :)

I have to say, it's also a great compliment to know that, though Claire isn't your favorite character on the show, you're enjoying the way she's portrayed in this story. I have mixed feelings about the character myself, but it's been interesting taking the time to explore her a little here.

Again, thanks so much for the great comments! Part Ten should be up soon--hope to see you there!

But really, it had only been a matter of time and since Peter had the ability to get up and walk away from just about anything, Claude wasn’t about to get all torn up over the tragic demise of his immediate relations.

*snort* Aww, Claude. So affectionate.

Anyway, as usual, love the little touches about Peter and Claude's relationship, and the conversation between Claude and Claire. Claude certainly did better here than Bennet actually did on the show in explaining that.

Well, then, I guess the answer to your question is yes--West is my ‘friend’ the same way Peter is your ‘friend,’” Claire said, using air quotes to emphasize her point. “But without the creaking bedsprings.”

“The creaking bedsprings are the best part,” Claude said.

Hee. Awesome.

Also, love the little Adam mention.

And yeah, congratulations on your award!

Haha, Claude definitely has peculiar ways of acknowledging his own soft spot for Peter. :) Anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed the new chapter, especially the conversation between Claude and Claire. I really enjoyed writing those two talking alone together although I admit that I had a little trouble at first with typos in the speech tags--their names are spelled so similarly that I kept accidentally putting Claude's name where Claire's was supposed to go and vice versa. The results were actually kind of humorous.

Once again thanks so much for reading and for the congrats on the award! Part Ten should be up soon--hope to see you there and that you continue to enjoy!

Really enjoyed this part! I liked Claude's conversation with Claire. It's been nice to see how you are filling in Claude's thoughts about the Company since he left it. Also, lots of more great lines in here--for example, a hilarious start to this chapter! :P

Looking forward to more! Also, congrats on the win! You deserve it; you portray Claude so excellently. :)

First of all, I've probably said this before, but I love your icon. I just giggle madly every time I see that one.

Second, I'm so glad you enjoyed the new chapter, especially Claude's evil little fantasy about the demise of Peter's family and his conversation with Claire. It was interesting writing a discussion between those two, though I have to say when I first wrote it the typos were numerous. Their names are spelled so similarly that I kept typing "Claude" where I meant to type "Claire" and vice versa. The results were actually kind of humorous.

Thanks so much for reading and also for the congrats on the award. Writing in Claude's voice has been both fun and challenging--it's very exciting and a little surreal to have won an award for it! Part Ten should be up soon. I hope you continue to enjoy!

Congrats of your win. Totally deserved.

But really, it had only been a matter of time and since Peter had the ability to get up and walk away from just about anything, Claude wasn’t about to get all torn up over the tragic demise of his immediate relations.

LOL. Ain't this the truth.

“Fine,” he said and picked up the bowl. “But if you tell anybody about this, I’ll…do something that will physically hurt but have no lasting consequences because you heal from everything and probably have an unusually high tolerance for pain.”

“That’s a pretty lame threat,” she replied.

LOL. Claire and Claude moments of cuteness. Awww.

Haha, I'm so glad you enjoyed the new chapter, especially Claude's evil little fantasy about the tragic demise of the Petrelli family and Peter's subsequent resurrection from it. :)
