The Price of a Memory--Optional Afterword

Optional Afterword

Having sat through a couple of creative writing workshops in the past, I know it’s generally considered bad form for a writer to try to explain or excuse their work in any way as it has a tendency to seem manipulative, as if he or she is trying to influence the reader’s opinion. But suffice to say, I never planned on writing ( Read more... )

Oh, and this particular version of Claude also seems to have decided that he’s determined to antagonize Mohinder and Matt into bed together

*giggles madly*

I'm all for a second part, though I quite understand if you end up not doing it. But The Price of a Memory is amazing either way.

Thanks so much for your input on the sequel idea. I'm glad you found the idea of Claude trying to play matchmaker with Mohinder and Matt (in his very Claude way) amusing rather than horrifying, lol. I will add your vote to the tally. :)

The process of writting that you described is so spot on. I know just how you feel. :D I would love a sequel. The Break-Up Heroes style would be awesome. To get revenge at Claude, Peter could strip naked and walk through the house. ;)

I love the idea of sequel! :D

Hmm...the story I'm working on is a little more "Home for the Holidays" Heroes style but your idea of Peter stripping naked and walking through the house to get revenge on Claude a la "The Break-Up" has me completely distracted now (in a good way). I totally forgot about that scene in the movie (despite the fact that I just watched it for the first time a week or two ago). The Peter/Claude version of that moment would definitely be interesting. Hmm...

Anyway, thanks so much for the feedback on the sequel idea (and your understanding about the writing process...it can definitely be a crazy, crazy thing)! I will add your vote to the tally. :)

I'd certainly be interested in a sequel, and your thoughts sound intriguing! (The ones posted here; I'm not channeling Peter quite yet ;)

Thanks for the feedback on the possibility of a sequel. I'm about eleven (single-spaced, size 10 font) pages in and I'm still not entirely sure where the thing is going (definitely not in the direction I was thinking when I thought of writing a sequel in the first place, though that's not necessarily a bad thing) but it seems promising so far and I will add your vote to the tally. :)

Totally understand where you're coming from. I think a sequel would be fun--and if you write it and end up not liking it, then you could always just not post it. :P

I also hope the hard times in your personal life are sorting themselves out. Take care :)

Very true about not posting it if I don't like it. I'm about eleven pages into the story so far and I'm starting to warm up to it a bit despite the fact that I still don't have anything resembling a clear idea as to where it's going. We'll see what happens and I'll add your vote to the tally. :)

And thanks for the well-wishes on the personal life stuff that's been going on. The past couple of months have really been kicking my ass a bit but things are definitely much better than they were.

I think you should do it. I know I haven't commented on this fic before now, but I absolutely loved it and was really sad to see it end (I don't comment mostly because I speed read fics before work and don't have time...but probably mostly because I'm lazy).

I need more Peter/Claude in this universe and the Matt/Mohinder wouldn't be bad. :)

I'm so glad to hear you enjoyed The Price of a Memory (and I totally understand about the "speed-reading before work/no time to leave comments" thing...I am woefully neglectful in that area myself). Thanks so much for your feedback on the possibility of a sequel--I totally agree that there can never been too much Peter/Claude in the world. :) We'll see what happens and I'll be sure to add your vote to the tally.
