Organizing Coupons

Oct 19, 2009 14:13

I was wondering if people have any tips for organizing their coupons. I have a little expandable holder, but i always end up forgetting what's in there, so they don't get used.(i have a medical condition that causes some spaciness haha.)  Then they expire. *sigh*

Anybody have any tips? General coupon tips are great too. TIA! :)

I use a regular binder (notebook) and have mine in baseball card holders. Sometimes I do have to fold the coupons to find inside each baseball card slot, but I usually put them in with the product facing out so I know what the coupon is for.

Each baseball card page holds 9 coupons. At the bottom of each page I used my label maker to stick on category labels (Frozen/Deli/Cleaning/etc) some categories have miltiple pages. I also use little posst-it flags to note which coupons will be expring soon...........

If you have the Windows calendar you could put the expiration dates in there and set the notification for a week or a few days before the coupon expires. Also, always check your folder after making your grocery list and attach any coupons to your grocery list with a paper clip. It helps to divide coupons between food and non-food items to make it a little easier to keep track of.

I have never tried this, but I have heard that the best way to organize coupons is to use a little 3x5 photo album. Use one page for each category and put the coupons in each page the way you would put a picture in.
It seems like a good idea to me, but I have a new baby, so my photo albums are all busy :)
good luck!

I have a business card holder that has about 40 spots. They are clear and see through. So I put my coupons in that. Although with all the diapers I buy they don't last long!

I never got the hang of coupons. If they're not in-store coupons, I don't bother. Clipping, sorting, organizing, and remembering them always seems like more effort than the savings warrants.
