Revan waited until he was alone, away from the bustling corridors of the Enclave and away from Kira, before he tried the communicator again, punching in the code he'd been given. And again it continued to go unanswered. Either Bastila knew he was trying to call and was ignoring him on purpose or she was unable to answer at the moment. It was futile to hope that it was the latter though - he was not even able to reach her through their Force bond - as the answering system picked up yet again.
He hung up this time though, refusing to leave another message. He'd left two as is. He sighed, flopping down onto the cot in the medical compartment of the Hawk and resting (hiding) away from the Jedi that were seemingly everywhere.
They had arrived on Dantooine last night and as soon as Kira had stepped off the ship, the Enclave had been in a buzz over her 'condition'. And though they were keeping tight-lipped until they had their meeting with Mical, and Revan had even been keeping a certain distance from Kira in public, some were assuming the child was his.
("It's the only reason he would come back." "I thought he was with Bastila." "Are we sure it's not Atton's? Or Bao-Dur's?" "But why would Revan come back now if it wasn't his?" "Timing's all wrong though." "Maybe she knew where he was all the time." "Maybe she's just put on some weight.")
Revan rubbed a hand over his face before he glanced at the communicator again and then at his chrono. It was almost time for the evening meal and part of him wondered if the Jedi still sat down together and whether he wanted to face them or not. He could hear T3-M4 bumping around in the next compartment over and Kira was somewhere else on the ship, giving him the space he'd asked for in order to call Bastila.
He turned the communicator over his hands - and when had his hands started to look so old and weathered to him? - and tried once more to hail Bastila. Again, no answer though.
He tossed the communicator onto the nearest counter, the clanging of metal against metal echoing in the small space of the medical bay. And Revan closed his eyes, listening to the sound and concentrating on it until the rest of the world faded away with it.
That was until the door slid open and T3-M4 beeped at him. He sighed as the droid rolled into the room and started diagnostic checks on equipment.
Revan sat up, looking at his chrono again. Not more than five minutes had gone by since the last time he had checked it. He sighed again and stood from the cot, heading out to search for Kira and food.
