I'm planning to! From the bits of costumes I can see in these it looks like it'll be really good visually and it certainly looks pretty emotional. One thing though - is the ending really sad? *can't cope with sad endings =S*

It is pretty sad, unfortunately. :(

Have you seen any of Mira Nair's films? If you haven't seen Monsoon Wedding maybe you should watch that one first. (It's actually my favorite anyway.) It's set in modern times but the costuming is no less gorgeous. Indian clothing has changed very little over the years. It has a happy ending. It's subtitled. I know that bothers some people.
