A Political Journey

I should probably get around to actually writing about some of my thoughts on the protests here in Wisconsin...and now across the country. I've been posting a ton on Twitter and Facebook (perhaps much to the chagrin of some of my friends), but there's only so much one can say in those spaces, so I'm going to flesh out my thoughts a bit here ( Read more... )

I still need to get my thoughts together on the protests too. I sadly missed Saturday, but I was there for Jesse Jackson's speech Friday. I went on Sunday night and Monday...and I have been home sick as HELL since coming home Monday, and that'll probably be the case tomorrow too. Being sick now is really pissing me off. I'm unemployed(and I KNOW this bill will not help me get a job, among other reasons it's really pissing me off) and I live so damn close to the Capitol Square that I kinda feel guilty not going, but I can't do anything about that for now.

I think Walker's prank phone call recording is going to get him out of office sooner than a recall. MAN, that was damning! I haven't listened to it, just read the transcripts, because whenever I see or hear that man, I get the inexplicable urge to put my head through a brick wall.

Yep-I've definitely seen you there. =P Been a member for years, but I usually lurk. The Wisconsin stuff is hitting just a bit too close to home.

Aw, that would kill me if I was that close and was too sick to go. I live 45 minutes from Madison, and it still kills me on the days where I have too much going on to be able to make it down there. Or like right now, when I decided not to go for the morning so I could get caught up on some of my homework (which isn't even happening), and I know we're going as soon as I get home from class...I still wish I was there right now. But at least you can still be involved online - that helps for me, anyway. And I hope you get well soon!

I haven't listened to the call yet, either. I should do that now. My husband said he thought it wasn't that bad, since Walker is just reiterating things he's already said publicly, but I think no matter what Walker said, it's damning because he took that call in the first place when he's refusing to talk to his citizens.
