To celebrate the new year/new decade, I've decided to retire purple Moulin Rouge icon as my default. I've had that practically since I started my journal...wow, over seven years ago. So I decided it's time for a change. I don't know if I'll keep Miss Jenny Lewis here as my default, but I like it for now.
Since the past year had its crappy moments for everyone, myself included, I wanted to try to list some of my highlights of 2009. Because some damn good things happened this year, like:
-I got freaking engaged to the love of my life :)
-We bought our first house together (and thank you, Mr. Obama, for extending that tax credit)
-I got the 3 most adorable kittens in the entire world
-On our two trips to Oklahoma, I got to go to prairie dog town (Sad that this is a highlight? Maybe. But those little guys were so gosh darn cute!)
-I transferred schools again and ended up somewhere I'm happy, even if I have a long commute
-I had a solo in my choir concert and rocked it
-Andy and I got a free trip to Chicago to a conference for my Theology class
-I discovered
Swaptree.com and traded for lots of great stuff
Hmm...maybe it's sad that that's all I can think of. Well, I also feel like posting my top songs on iTunes, because I did that
last year and I find it interesting, for some reason. I'll probably put up the list of books I read in 2009 later, when I have a little more time.
