It was early in the morning. The Order was finally in a relative state of peace after the flurry of Third Exorcists moving in three weeks prior. Allen, Lenalee and Kanda had also returned from their mission in Istanbul, giving Komui a great sense of relief.

Link was sitting at a table in the cafeteria, facing a breakfast that contained a high number of apple turnovers, with a donut--or, more accurately, two-and-a-half donuts--on the side. He happened to be situated so that he could see Chief Lee when he came around the corner.

Now, Link was not going to stir up a fuss at the Chief's sudden appearance. Apprehending him was very much not Link's problem. However, to see him reappearing so nonchalantly (as it seemed to Link) was rather irritating. He felt justified in directing a glare towards the Chief.

Feeling somebody's gaze on him, Komui looked up and schooled his features into a neutral, even slightly goofy expression, wondering who would be awake that early in the morning.

It was Link, looking at him with something akin to a glare on his face. Ah, Link being here...that was going to be a little...troublesome. Komui forced a smile out.

"Why, good morn, Inspector! What brings you here so early!"

Perhaps Link had been glaring a little too hard, because Chief Lee noticed him and saw fit to give him a cheerful greeting.

Now merely frowning, Link said, "I always get up this early, Chief Lee." A pause as he considered going on. "Are you going to vanish again?"

Komui kept his smile on, eyes crinkling at the edges.

He really did need to get back to some work, so he cannot spend too long here, lest Link report his appearance to some other personnel.

Just grab your coffee and go, Komui.

"Moi, dear Inspector?" Komui chuckled and started heading toward the counter where Jeryy should be starting to prepare breakfast. "I'm hurt that you'd think that way. I simply have some matters to deal with, Inspector."
