I'm glad you've settled on "mostly :D"! I love (seriously, love) knowing that this fic makes you grin and that both of its love stories are working for you, along with all the little almost moments that it brings me both glee and frustration to write. :)
It's so lovely to know that this read as a holiday gift to you, thanks. (And thanks for bidding on the snippet-auction, too. I'm totally looking forward to writing you something.)
All love is mutual. ♥ (Also, you have so won a snippet---between my lack of understanding what brevity is and your awesomely generous donation, you've probably won a novella. :D)
Oh yay! I've been thinking about this the last couple of days. I was worried I missed it somehow. This was just so warm and comfy as ususal. I just love being privy to kris' thoughts and feelings. It's funny, but the hug kris gave adam is the first time in along time that I thought of the real kris and adam that inspired this. Kris burrying his face in adams shoulder is just such an intrinsic part of them.....looking forward to movie night!
And oh, I didn't forget * waves ninja star* thank you so much ;)
I think you probably summoned this update by wondering where it was. :D (This fic, it's like a demon that way.) Also, it is so cool that the faceplant hug (which, agreed 100%, is totally the [wonderful] essence of Adam-and-Kris in RL) is the first time in a while you thought of the real Adam and Kris. I definitely have that experience with this fic, it's really taken on a life of its own---but uh, I'm the one writing it, so I'm never sure how it works for anyone else.
(Also, asjkldfj how flattered am I that you wanted to bid on another snippet? The auction is officially open now, and there's still another one available here if you still want it!)
oh my god. I was having the crappiest day and then I checked my email and saw that you updated and flailed.
Now that I've read this chapter the word that sticks in my mind is warmth. That is what your characters make me feel. Not only Kris, but all of his friends. I feel like their relationships are what friendships SHOULD be, and it makes me feel just plain warm inside.
and i know i've said this before but your Kris is just glorious. I want to crawl into his brain and live there forever.
I love knowing that this fic made a bad day better for you. ♥
And thank you about the warmth. Writing and imagining this 'verse is such a warm and fuzzy thing for me, and knowing that I'm sharing that with all of you guys is so wonderful that I can't even describe it.
(I love that you want to crawl into Kris's brain and live there, too, omg. This fic is the weirdest thing to write, I can hardly ever tell if it's getting too out-there or not, so it's nice to know that it's working for you.)
I love this AU. I rarely read WIPs (in fact, in recent memory, I've followed...two. Of which this is one), but I am thrilled to make an exception for this one. I not only follow, I reread the past bits often, and check back every now and again for an update. And here it is! :D
I'm enjoying the slow build of everything: the friendship between Kris and Adam, Kris' changing understanding of himself as a musician, the hints of Adam's crush on Kris, the hints of Kris' growing awareness of his feelings for Adam (and the implications for his sexuality). I also love Kris and Katy's relationship - the sense of history, there, and of long friendship.
I love it all!
(Also, I heart the ninja throwing stars that Adam made for Kris. Adorable!)
Oh man, every time someone who doesn't usually do WIPs (...and I don't usually read them, either) gives this thing a chance a likes it, kittens learn how to fly, or something equally wonderful and ridiculous. (Thank you for giving this thing a chance and liking it---especially liking it enough to re-read, aklsdf.)
And thanks for pointing out like, everything that's really important to me to get across with this fic as something you like, too. :) When I started writing this, I had no idea how long and complicated it would get, and knowing that all its various aspects are coming together into a coherent and enjoyable whole is wonderful.
(I had so much fun making those throwing stars! I'm glad you like them.)
