I visited my grandmother in her last week of life. Not a lot of fun, really, but on the other hand the memory is more an aberration than anything else - it certainly isn't the first thing that comes to mind when I think of her.
Also, mold sucks and happens very easily - any leak in the walls is going to bring on mold, probably even more likely if it's minor because then it doesn't get noticed until mold is already growing. I can understand WHY the sociopathic management would care more about their precious building than they care about their tenants, but that certainly doesn't make it right. Bastards. Make sure you check the disclosure and online before you move next time, though you should have seen the disclosure anyways (if they have had mold issues before and it's not disclosed you can sue, btw - that's basically a real estate maxim, EVERYTHING MUST BE DISCLOSED).
Yeah, either way, I think I have enough not-fun in my life right now, though :/ Really don't want to have to see the aunt & uncle, either.
They're claiming it's mildew, and seem to be completely ignoring and/or conveniently forgetting every time I ask them to try and test the stuff. If I can't prove it's mold, I'm pretty sure I couldn't sue on non-disclosure. Also, I rarely have had issues with mildew/mold (other than the little bits that get on washable/tossable items), so I may have read something like a disclosure and just didn't think about it.
I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing to want to remember your grandmother the way she was.
It does suck, though, and so does mold. :x I hope you and your dad are able to relax just a little and do at least one fun thing to take your minds off of everything while he's there.
The apartment complex, for all the ZOMG!RUSH they put on to get the hole in the ceiling, is dragging their feet about actually getting it put BACK... So we're kind of stuck in the house until they do that :/
(And after putting extremely noisy drying equipment in the apartment Friday and leaving it there and ON until Saturday evening and testing that it was dry enough on Saturday, you'd think the guy they sent on Monday to test for moisture would have the same verdict. Bastards).
