Cups of SPEED!

So, at the Teen Interest Group meeting I attended today, there was a big discussion about Sport Stacking. Have you all heard of this? It's stacking cups really really fast in a certain order. YES!

This is HUGE at my school. My PE teacher is really involved in the network of sport stacking, and they hold county wide sport stacking at Deerfield Run.

Yeah, though - big with grades 3-6. DOnt know about middle school.

yeah, seems like only the hardcore players would carry it over into Middle School and even less into high school.

I talked with Dee the Cup Pusher (and I mean that in an admiring fashion, the same way I refer to Pokemon as the "gateway drug" to manga/anime fandom) before the Teen Interest Group meeting.

I plan to try it with older elementary kids at my new library if it hasn't been tried already. I also like Dee's idea about it as an intergenerational event: get the parents/grandparents in to play with the kids. Get the kids in first, they'd probably love training their parents and giving them pointers!
