I didn't read much Garfield growing up but I did read American Girls. I feel like the early part of this post was just one big flashback omg. The nostalgia!

I'm not surprised that there's some Star Wars books here :D

Actually, I'm not sure! I donated a lot of books to the library in the last few years and then the last of the books I was going to donate to the library went to my grandma's little free library. I think the book I've had the longest might now be Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark.

OMG I think those are at my parents still. I actually have a hardcover collected edition of the "scary stories" that someone donated to the library and I snagged because, for awhile, they weren't publishing the original illustrations, which had been deemed "too scary" and "controversial".

YESSSSS. When we heard they had changed the illustrations because they were "too scary" etc. my younger brother was outraged and I was like, why change what's not broken? The illustrations is part of what makes the books!

My younger brother read them so many times when we were growing up that they fell apart and my mom bought a new set lol. Man. Now I want to pull them out!

WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE STORY?! Mine was the one about the bride who was playing hide and seek and found the perfect hiding place, but it was too perfect, and no one found her and she was stuck in the chest.

It's been ages since I read them but the one that stuck with me the most, probably because of the creepy picture, was the girl who has the blemish on her face and it kept getting bigger and bigger and then IT BURST AND SPIDERS CRAWLED OUT!!!!!!!

I love that you still have your Garfield books! I still have some of mine but so many of them have no covers due to excessive use XD I think the book I've had the longest might be my LotR? It's a 1975 print and my dad's pal gave me it when I was a kid. I still have a bunch of old nursery rhyme books. I don't actually know what books I still have because when I moved out of my dad's I left a lot of stuff that I don't have space for. Hopefully when I move I'll be able to get a bookcase :)

I swear they just used glue sticks for the binding on those covers LOL, they came off so EASY!

I know there are still lots of my kid books at my parents. These are the ones that have slowly migrated to our house as I slowly go through all my stuff LOL
