Tim found this article last night and shared it with me and it really made me understand the fundamental flaws in the storytelling with season 8 of GoT and how we tell stories in general.

That article was an incredible read, thank you for recommending it. I've been really enjoying all these articles and thinkpieces surrounding the final season, and seeing the varying opinions of what went wrong, what could have been fixed/done differently, etc. I like this person's take on it, since it's very true in terms of storytelling. Of course, since that was written before the series finale, it makes me wonder their thoughts after the fact now that the series has ended.

This is a really neat article! I haven't been watching GoT (although I am -- still -- a ASOIAF fan), but I've been curiously following the finale fallout. But even besides that, the sociological vs psychological storytelling distinction made me think of several other series I'm following that I think attempt the sociological storytelling approach -- this is a really handy way to think about the distinction.
