I feel like such a weirdo, cause I don't LOVE the Beatles like so many of my friends do.
They are one of Aleena's favourite bands as well...and while I like a bunch of their music, it's not a fave for me by any means.

Tho there is a new movie coming out, based on Beatles songs...I forget what it's called. I'm interested in seeing that.

LOL well, I found the Beatles at the right time in my life and they really connected with something deep in me and while my parents had a couple records, they were casual fans so it became a thing I could obsess over that they were amused by. Kinda like dinosaurs when you're 6 LOL - I knew all the names and factoids and my parents were just like "oh that is cute"

Oh I have many many many albums and I listen to stuff on Spotify but I think these bands have a certain staying power for me. I have lots of bands that I listen to on and off, don't have every album or know every song and those are bands I'm a fan of, but right now I have to say that these 5 bands have stood the test of time.

Bastille is the newest to the list, we will see if they are on it next time someone asks me a question like this, but the other 4 I always find myself going back to.

Thanks! Once I started to really think about it, I knew 3 out of the 5 right away. But I know all of these artists would get me through good days and rough days because they already have. :)

I first got introduced to Weird Al back in 1999 when I heard "The Saga Begins" on the radio, and I've loved his music ever since. He's so funny, I love his concepts, experimenting with different genres, and what he chooses to parody.

Hayley even pointed this out at the last concert we went to, prefacing 'Misery Business' by saying that it really isn't a healthy attitude and she has grown as a person since then...but damn it is fun to sing along.Yeah, I remember when she came out to mention that and some people were upset because I'm sure that song bangs when done live, but at the same time it's amazing when someone acknowledges something like that, because it shows growth and maturity. I always liked "Misery Business" with the beat and her singing, plus it was the first song that introduced me to them long ago, but it's true that the message in there isn't really...good. So I'm glad the song got nixed at concerts. That doesn't mean you don't have to stop listening to it yourself, but she wants to make a statement that she doesn't ( ... )

He's a funny guy and a NICE guy too! He actually commented on some songs he won't sing anymore because the jokes are no longer appropriate. Things that he sang in the 80s and 90s for laughs he has looked back on and thought "yeah, that probably wasn't for the best" and doesn't perform anymore. He just seems really cool. I'm excited to see him AGAIN in July for his tour with the full orchestra!

Paramore actually still *plays* Misery Business but Hayley does preface it with that little story about growing up. It is amazing to have watched her grow as a performer and as a person. I was so sad for her when her marriage didn't work out, which is what most of 'after laughter' comes from. But her new hair color brand (Good Dye Young) is doing well. I bought some of her Poser Paste for Sylvia for Christmas and it is really cool, I kinda want to get some for myself!

I've heard a lot of positive things about him, like how he always asks permission from an artist if he can parody a song. I also learned how long he'd been doing this, which is quite impressive. He seems like an overall good guy.

Oh, I thought I read something a while ago about them taking the song out completely from their live shows. But I guess that's not the case. Either way though, it's still nice seeing how much Hayley has matured and grown throughout the years, as a person and with her music.
