TL;DR - go to Florida in February

Feb 07, 2015 16:59

I have memories of visiting Universal Studios when I was a kid and having lots of fun with my family, then visiting again as an adult and having a good time. But also being hot. And being crowded by people. And waiting in long lines. These trips all occurred during spring/summer ( Read more... )

I was last in Orlando (Disney but not Universal) in late October and it was very much the same. The parks weren't empty feeling at all but for all but the most popular rides the line ups were minimal and the weather was perfect. Good to know that February is another ideal time.

I am not good on rollercoasters either. I've been very worried about the Harry Potter rides. Maybe I'll be brave enough to try at least the Hogwarts one...

Good to know! I'm already trying to figure out when I can go back down and knowing it's not just February is helpful LOL. omg I want to go back so bad already!!!

Of the two, I'd say the Hogwarts one is the more intense since you're in the chair and it is able to sort of lift you up, while the Gringotts ride feels more like a typical rollercoaster in seating but it's more screens messing with your mind than actual gravity.

I've got to get to work on planning. Ideally I'm back in October for Disney and Harry Potter. Exciting!

Maybe I'll brave the Harry Potter rides... I'm scared but they also look neat. I'll see how I feel once I'm there. I think if I only wander around and see the magic I'll still be happy with the trip.

Guh, you're making me super envious and jealous. I've been to Wizarding World twice but I really wanna go to Diagon Alley (which I already said in a comment to the other entry XD). I really hope I get to go down there in the next year or so ( ... )

I've seen the transformers movies, they were awful, but the ride was there and it was only a 5 minute way and I didn't see Shia LaBeaouf's face on anything so I figured it was safe LOL. So I had fun knowing it would just be a stupid ride. The bar was already pretty low LOL.

I don't like the drop in the Jurassic Park ride LOL. I want them to redo that SO BAD! Why can't they make a little Ford Explorer car we can ride around in and be attacked by dinosaurs???? WHY!?!?!

They had a fence up with lots of "renovations in progress" signs up so I'm wondering what is next! Disney is supposed to announce a Star Wars park soon...you KNOW I won't miss out on that!

Haha, true enough. I mean, it was fine in general as a ride, but it wasn't really worth waiting as long as I did when it was that hot out. I wouldn't do it again ( ... )

We went to Disneyland in the middle of summer. We totally had it timed so that we'd be back at the park while families were eating and then heading home. We walked onto SO many rides! WDW and Harry Potter are next on our lists.

Well played! I'd like to go to Disney World again but it's so much more expensive and the whole park feels like it's geared for a much younger set. BUT I have not been since the recent renovations with the new Disney character additions. And with the rumors of a Star Wars park flying around...well I can only resist for so long!

It was open until midnight so it was very easy to get on rides! Early morning, lunch and nap in the OMG humid afternoon, and then dinner and rest of day at either park. It was awesome.

We got married while on a trip to Disneyland so we want to spend our five year anniversary at WDW. It's in November...maybe not the best time to go but I wasn't planning trips at the time. LOL

Ahhh! It sounds like so much fun. I should plan to go down there in February one year. It is my birthday month and that would be a huge treat for me.

I am also not a roller coaster person so the info on the rides was very interesting to me!

You should!!! And then tell them it's your birthday and they will give you a button to wear so EVERYONE tells you happy birthday :D And you'll feel even more magical!
