Jean met Oliver through friends they both had in common. The both of them were out, at a bar, celebrating one of their friend’s engagement. As much as he didn’t want to admit it, the moment he was introduced to Oliver, he was instantly smitten and attracted to him. He didn’t want to say it, but there was something about Oliver that pulled him in.
The two of them spent the better part of the evening chatting and getting to know one another. They quickly realised that they had a lot in common and as the evening progressed, they got closer to one another. The rest of the guests faded away, until it was just the two of them.
By the end of the evening, Jean invited Oliver over to his place, to continue their night. Oliver agreed and Jean was glad. At least, it let him know that Oliver was also quite interested in him as well.
That night turned into many more nights, and by the time they attended their friend’s wedding, they went as a couple.
That event was what set them as an item. As the years went by, they attended many more events together and with every passing day, they got closer and closer to one another.
Once they had many years behind them, Oliver would tease Jean about the fact that he had fallen for him upon first sight and it took Jean a few more years to admit to it.
They were now at a point where they were perfectly at ease with one another. Often, there were mornings where Jean would wake up and find Oliver at their kitchen table, sipping his first cup of coffee.
Oliver would smile at him, because he knew Jean had fallen for him, when they first met, so many years ago, and Jean would kiss the top of his head, extremely glad he had.
