Last post for a while!

Alright now! Here's a post that might benefit some of you. It's a post about possible means against period pains.

This means that if you're a boy, this isn't for you. Unless you're looking out for a suffering girlfriend.

Anyway, I thought it might be helpful to give possible tips.

I've gone through some pain during my period, but it isn't very heavy and it's never been so painful that I've had to take pain killers, so this really helps!!

It's pretty warm over here in desert California, so I don't think I'll need to keep warm, but there's no way I'm gonna move around on my period! It sometimes shifts around the bleeding, making the blood move onto my panties and that makes me a very angry turtle D8 Even walking makes me paranoid about it. I might try the warm drink thing, though! But I always drink fruit juice, though. And masturbation is veeery messy! And so would the sex!

... shifts around the bleeding?

Sounds to me that you need to buy other brands of pads. D: I have pretty heavy bloodflow, but I like to use those relatively thin types (even though they're thin, they can handle an amazingly decent amount of bloodflow) with those wing thingies on the side, so even if you move, the blood stays in place. Unless you're using tampons?

Honestly though, walking should pose no problem. XD But you can just concentrate on the other methods I guess.

Hm, I shall try to look for thin pads, then! And I have heavyflow periods, too.

I know it should, but I just get too paranoid about the shifting and stuff @_@

Oh I understand the paranoia. Don't worry about that. XD

The stuff to look for on thin pads is their stated capacity: even though they're all relatively thin, some will be marked as heavy bloodflow type. You would still have to change from time to time, of course, but in the meantime it feels better.

Just experiment with the brands. XD

I ignored your many warnings...*coughs* but it was thoughtful of you to put it up! I wish I had this advice for my ex back then. It was seldom that she was noticably troubled, but still. Something to keep in mind in the future, though!

XD

Well, good luck with a future girlfriend about it then. Hopefully she'll appreciate it!

Just don't do it when she has her period. We girls tend to be particularly vicious during those times. D: She might have her female friends gang up on you, too.

Yay, period pains d=_=b I usually feel awful the first couple of days (cramps, really sore legs, mega crankiness) but I do find that drinking warm stuff helps. I also picked up a technique for temporary relief from some article - you get on your hands and knees so that your stomach @ uterus area is facing the floor - the rationale for this is that it relaxes the walls of the uterus, causing less painful contractions. I find that it works for me, so when I'm having one of those bad days I try to stay in bed and assume a position on my belly, the pain does seem reduced.

Oooh! Thanks for the tip! And yes, it's the worst the few couple of days. XD

That's an interesting position! I'll try it out, thanks! :D

It reminds me of my past "strategy" of contorting around in bed until I find a position that hurts less. XP Nice to hear of one that works fine!

Thank you! :) cutie_aoide April 9 2007, 08:47:58 UTC
Oooo, so nice. I usually meditate in bed and fall asleep afterwards (and sometimes take a pill, but I don't believe those work since I still feel pain). I also walk around a lot while listening to music or just reading and listening to music. Do you listen to music too? I find that it helps me meditate more and doesn't let me concentrate on my pain.

All these tips are so interesting to read! I wish I knew more to give you but I just have some ways that you can try and not concentrate so much on the pain (Like reading a book, cooking, listening to music, or some other hobby of yours that don't require so much movement). This also makes me feel dumb (lol), since I never knew about this before (and I'm 20 >_>) but at least now I know what to do. Thank you so much. ^_^ *hug*

I'm glad it was helpful! :)

Though... don't start making Me feel dumb. XD I'm 23 (I'm oooold XD) and certainly didn't think of meditation at age 20. XD I don't listen to much music either, though I do read a lot.

That said, I've found attempting to Study while aching doesn't seem to help at all. ^^; Not the same type of concentration, I'd guess.

But thanks for the hobby tip! :D Now that you put it this way, I can see how it'd be of tremendous help. It's like concentrating on breathing, except you're concentrating on something that's much more interesting. XD
