Fanart: Young Sherlock

Strangely enough, this was inspired by salr323's post for fic writers on UK Christmas traditions. (There was an offhand mention of a foxhunt, and then I googled foxhunting, and ended up with this. Sometimes, I just really have no idea.) It's an imagining of young Sherlock, in the style of a slightly cartoonish children's book illustration. I suppose I ( Read more... )

We have a fox that lives on our housing estate. We always put food out for it during the winter. I don't know if it's the same one every year, but every winter we see one running around. I love it.

Oh wow, adorable, a bit disturbing, and very subtly expressive. Just as Sherlock should be. :D Very nice!

Haha, that's Sherlock, all right. A bit disturbing, and yet adorable. I hope that's what came through. XD

Thank you, darling.

I'm reminded simultaneously of Calvin & Hobbes, and Christopher Robin. I think Sherlock is a nice blend of the latter's curiosity and the former's cynicism, so this makes sense in my head.

This is a lovely piece. Will there be more? :D

I love both of those things intensely, so thank you for the lovely compliment! I agree, Sherlock's a bit of a mix between curiosity and world-weary cynicism. Well said.

I hope so! Thanks for leaving such a nice note. ♥

That is absolutely lovely - which you won't often see me say about a picture with a dead fox in it! Little Sherlock's expression is perfect - a little shocked, a little curious. I suspect he's going to know all about foxes - or at least parts of them - by the end of the day.

The shades and lines are wonderful, and you have just enough perfect little details (like the prints in the snow).

Ha! Nor do I often make pictures with dead foxes. Sherlock, as always, is a special case. XD He is definitely about to catalog some data.

Thank you so, so much!

I LOVE HIS HAIR. Let it be known, and shouted from all the rooftops. Curly-haired Sherlock is a dream.

Thank you. :DDDDD
