I started off with it just being a little mention of a casual relationship, but then I kind of fell in love with them in this AU and had to throw in some more.

I agree. Cara's relationship with Denna was very vivid and interesting. A harsher Mord Sith companion than Dahlia would've been, but still she had someone after all. (Ironically, Denna perhaps came out better from the Wizard's meddling than she had before).

Really liked that Cara anticipated her child's fate in this one and it doing something about it. And what spurs her is wanting to be a better parent than she perceives her father to have been.

Can't wait for her to encounter an unbroken Dahlia. Really enjoying this. :)

Yes! C/D was so strong and just there with each other that it must have been easy to let go of other things when you knew you had this one person. I watched Cara's scenes in season 1 again and watched how she interacted with people... hurt that her sisters were extinct (even Triana!), willing to kill the confessor!LordRahl for what he did, being a smart-ass toward Darken when he explains where to find the Seeker. She's really on top of the whole loyalty and duty thing, but she's got a streak of fierce independence.
