I had about an hour after I finished writing last night, so I watched two more episodes of The Muppet Show.

Statler and Waldorf are a riot, but my favorite character has always been the Swedish Chef.

I'm looking forward to the Muppet stamps coming out from the post office soon!

I believe the Connie Stevens ep had the first appearance of the Swedish Chef! (he's in the pilot, but I don't think that ever aired.)

Oh, how I loved Kermit singing Lydia the Tattooed Lady.

I don't think I knew at the time that it hadn't been written just for him.

Figured that out later, when I saw Michael Feinstein do it on Broadway.

Lydia is quite amusing herself.

I will always have a special soft spot in my heart for Statler and Waldorf, because that's what we would call my grandfather and great-uncle (they were brothers in law). The resemblance was uncanny, as was the great affinity between them. Statler died a few years back, and we lost Waldorf in April.

Oh, I was just trying to find this set yesterday, but it was all sold out. :(. Good for all of the people who got there ahead of me, but still, sad for me. I'll keep looking...I need me some Muppet happiness!
