Excitement! St. Matthew!

I sang Bach's Matthäus Passion for the first (and so far only) time back in 2003, but have never seen it performed live. Thanks to Tom Purdom, I shall see it on Saturday night - The Philadelphia Orchestra is performing it with a choir from Westminster Choir College. I am hoping it will be! The Orchestra does not normally do any Bach.

Keep an eye on the guy singing the Evangelist's part. He's equal parts cheesy and hammy, but in a delightful way.

I will say that as much as I enjoyed it, by the last half hour I was a little antsy.

Also, they have a theorbo!

I wonder if they hired Richard from Tempesta di Mare or someone else to play theorbo. I shall see tonight!

I call it "The Mighty Theorbo." Also "The Eye-Sticker."

Am thinking of having a nap this afternoon, as I wilt early. Also, maybe coffee with dinner.
