Y.S. Wilce, Flora's Dare: ZOMG so good. Ummmm...most of what I loved was spoileriffic, and I really don't want to spoil, so, ummm...it's second in a series, and the world is really cool, it's an alternate California that is a client state of the Huitzals, nicknamed Birdies, who are alternate-world Aztecs. I gobbled up the first book with much joy. Clearly I need to buy the second one, too.

I liked it just a little less than the first, because I have a crush on her house spirit and want to see more of him, but it was still AWESOME.

I have a crush on Poppy.

A sad, sad crush.

In real life, he would drive me batty and I would run away, but in the books?

Can I beg you to write a recommendation card for Flora Segunda? I liked it but didn't love it and therefore can't sell it. I only need 1 to 3 sentences. Please? I bat my eyelashes at you.

What, the full title alone doesn't sell it?

You can't miss with a title like Flora Segunda: Being the Magickal Mishaps of a Girl of Spirit, Her Glass-Gazing Sidekick, Two Ominous Butlers (One Blue), a House with Eleven Thousand Rooms, and a Red Dog.

Ornate and fun. Adventures, madness, funny things and brave things, all set in a wacky alternate California that's being ruled by alternate Aztecs. Go. Read.
