Warning: this is my record of the preparation, procedure, and recovery from my colonoscopy. It's a little gross at parts.There's a familiar trope in storytelling where the hero (and it's almost always the hero, not heroine) is going off to do something foolish/brave and everyone he encounters explains to him in no small detail why it's a bad idea

I actually managed to work the day before my colonoscopy (and upper endoscopy and mammogram), but I only lasted until lunch the day after. It really does take a lot out of you, pun not intended.

Hope that all the tests come back normal - keep us posted!
