To prepare you for the big movie release this weekend, brush up on your history and watch 7 Harry Potter Movies In 7 Minutes. Suffice it to say, Spoilers!
Why miss the other movies? Most of them I didn't see until they were on DVD, but I saw Deathly Hallows Part I in theaters (because my parents visited) and I'll see Part II in theaters (because my parents are visiting). Actually, I'm considering still going this weekend by myself. My dad wants to see it in 3D, but I don't care for it. 1.) I can compare the way the movies look and 2.) I don't have to wait a week to see it. And I get to see it twice! Still debating though.
I think I own 5 on dvd, but mainly I just don't care to. I've read the books many times over and the onscreen canon not fitting my imagination bugs me.
Also my husband says if watching the first two with me is any indication I'm not allowed to watch them when he's home. I nitpick too much *g*
While there were several discrepancies, the one that truly annoys me is how The Prophecy left out the possibility that it could have been talking about Neville. Otherwise I take Rowlings own position, that the movies are supplementary to the books. Some cognitive dissonance may apply.
Still haven't gotten around to seeing Green Lantern and am unlikely to until it turns up on TV. Captain America opens in the UK a week after the US, so you won't be that late.
Actually, for most films, from next week onwards - the UK is behind the US... there is something not quite right about that...
I'm probably going to try to do another Coming Soon post this weekend, but I'm still trying to decide if I should try to include trailers. The last time I did one it didn't get much notice. But having the list handy for myself will be reward enough, I think.
Go for it. I might not comment but trying to watch videos on my home connection is haaard! But I do try to watch them when I am at work (on my *lunchbreak* you understand;)).
I should try and do something like this for myself but quite a bit of it (such as Jane Eyre and the Disney 50 movies being shown at a London cinema) will only be relevant to me.
Harumpf - will consider the matter. Also - have you seen the new Hobbit photo? All the B's this time;). You know, by the time the movie comes out, I should be able to pick each one out in a line up:D
