[he's easy enough to find.

In many ways, Mat was as lazy and beligerent as he pretended to be. But never with horses. This was what he'd grown up with, and it shows in the careful way he lifts Bella's hooves, checking for any rocks or other objects that might have become wedged, while he waits for Maya to arrive.

He's gentle, hands sliding down the length of the leg, urging the knee to raise as he moves to the next hoof, and the horse calmly obliges. It's obviously a familiar dance for both of them]
