I've debated about making this a public post, as it really has nothing to do with The Daily Rhythm's renewed purpose, but it does have some relevance with the whole "pathos"-aspect of my writing.

Buca's death troubles me...there have been so many young people dying here lately and all of them are tragic. Buca was a very special person. I told one of my children about his passing, and their response was "wasn't he that guy that was always drunk at the mud volleyball tournaments?". How sad that to some people, that is his legacy. He was so much more--a brilliant mind, unlimited talents in so many areas, personable, an ambassador for Native culture. He always had a smile and an "oh my goodness" for everyone. I will miss him!
