Mini pic spam. Don't think these two of August + Daniel on set have been posted yet and the one of Christoph is just random. I saw it in a video and was like the fuck? Was that Landa saluting? So I screen capped it and just remembered it now.

About the salute- It was probably a scene that didn't make the finale cut but was in the trailer IIRC (like Aldo's "oh yes yes yes yes").

Aha yeah Landa is saluting like a mofo.

God he so into it.

And ya know, points for the misleading trailer. A million things didn't happen (okay not a million) that I thought would, and even the whole feel of the trailer led me astray. For eight months I believed it was an action comedy?? Needless to say, disappointed the first time watching, but I grew to love it.

tl;dr - misleading trailer is misleading

I saw that trailer last year, I think I have it on the dvd extras of the film.
I love that little clip of Landa saluting- I wish it hadn't been cut out!

And thanks for sharing those on-set photos; I particularly like the one where August's laughing :)

Yay, pics of August's boooooots!!!!!

The trailers were full of scenes that were never in the film, including one of Donny (I believe) running down the prison hallway madly firing a machine gun.

I do like the salute scene, but I'm glad it was cut.

QT kept IB light on the NSDAP salutes and a lot of the party customs in general. The scenes where they are saluting we don't see it, in both of them we see Shoshana's face instead(The coffee house with Zoller fans and during the lunch scene.)
Would have been really out of place and also it seems quite out of character for Landa.
