So interesting! I had no idea so thanks so much for your posts on this. It's great that the two pieces have survived, if not together!

I agree. I wonder who first concluded with them belonging together? Couldn't find any specifics about it. I guess several would be trbuted for the discovery.

But again - the painting(s) makes so much more sense together than apart. A whole new depth and 3D feeling appears.
