SHE'S ALIVE...

As usual I haven't updated in ages... Haven't been working on any costume related project since the marathon sewing of the Aminta costume, and I don't think the near future will allow me to either. I have two heavy exams coming up, and then I'm off for Rome (staying there for a month, yay ( Read more... )

That is interesting tableware. Ehm, are you supposed to eat of those plates, or are they decorative? The food won't show up, or perhaps you could make som food which matches the pattern?

I like the middle part of my plates to be in one colour. But when I eat porridge, my bowl has a pattern on it, and that's ok, since the porridge completely covers the bottom. It is fun to see the little bird emerge. Perhaps it is upside down or sideways?

The plates are definitely to eat from, and it's the upper side you see in the photo. It is rather "buzy" in pattern, but it's meant to be mixed with white plates and form a fancy whole. Not sure how it will look overall, but I like the idea. There were lots of various patterns (I think 4 different themes, in different variations), not all as much decorated as the one above. Google "Flora Norvegica", and I think several of the patterns will show up.

A chef I once lived with proclaimed that nothing but white plates was ever acceptable, though... :D

I took a google and found out it was from Porsgrund. Should have guessed, they like to do this kind of thing.

I'm not a fan of Porsgrund. I think their nisseservice has ugly drunken nisses, and they are not very original. The tableware we have at our hytte, however, is nice, and it belongs there so I like it.

But I'm horrible when it comes to tableware. I once deadly insulted the girlfriend of the cousin of my then boyfriend by telling her that the tableware she was proudly collecting was of good quality, and that I knew this since I had seen it in many a cafeteria. Yes, it was Figgjo.

Yep. I'm a Wegdwood girl :)
