I have a wonderful domain name for my official website - http://www.anea.no . Unfortuneately I'm not able to update that site myself, and the guy who's been helping me has totally abandoned the project. I've desperately needed an update, so I've made a temporarily site at my Geocities site ( Read more... )

Just out of curiosity, why can't you update your official site? The Geocities one looks nice! Clean and simple. :)

Erm... I'm clueless... I tried to learn it a year ago, writing tags and such in basic HTML sheets, and then upload them. but because I used Mac it didn't work (or that was the explanation I got anyway). Unlike Geocities, where you type right into the "sheet" and save it, the other one requires a new upload for each update. And I'm... well... I'm not quite understanding the system...

My cousin used to help me out, but he's ill and have to use time on other stuff than websites right now. So... Here I am.

Of course, I'm more than open to good advices, but I gotta admit that other than Geocities I'm quite clueless when it comes to websites.

If you wanted me to take a look at it, I'd be happy to. It'd have to be after the end of October, since I'm currently busy planning an event, but like I said--I'd be willing to take a look at it if you wanted. I usually create my own HTML document and upload it straight to KatieJacobs.com when I update, so it sounds a bit like what you're saying.

That is incredibly kind of you to offer!

What I really need, is to incorporate the Geocities site as a frame within the main site, so I can keep updating it myself, while maintaining the "real" domain name. That's what was done with my livejournal, which can be viewed in two different ways:

http://www.anea.no/diary.html

and

http://operafantomet.livejournal.com/

They both bring you to the same site, but at the first one Livejournal is "framed" within the Anéa domain. I think that might be too big a job? But thanks a lot for offering your help!
