My dear friend Beverly is returning to the Enterprise after a year heading up Starfleet Medical. Honestly, as much as I've enjoyed getting to know Kathryn, and as much as I will miss her, I am looking forward to having Beverly return

I think memories leave some of the deepest scars.

This is especially true because often, we do not remember the actual event. We remember pieces and our mind fills in the rest to create a story. That story is what cuts us so deeply, so completely. And the story changes as we grow older, as we start to understand what happened and what we still need to process.
