week's end ramble

I remember Diana and Charles wedding because it was shortly after mine and I felt a kinship with her. Go figure. I didn't marry a rich prince who didn't love me, but we were close in age and newly married.  This wedding today did nothing for me. I know a few people who got up early to watch it on TV, I had no desire. Another friend and her friends ( Read more... )

There's no one thing I really want to respond to, I just wanted to say I enjoyed this post very much. Many different emotions and comments and a lovely photo of duckies. What more could a post need? :-) Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

I tuned in to the news this morning. Royal wedding, wedding, wedding, tornado. Really? I have less than zero interest in the royals. I'm bewildered by the world wide interest, especially Americans. Didn't we boot the monarchs out 235 years ago?

Work and money concerns are with us too. Cheryl is taking classes to upgrade her skills, especially on the latest graphic design softwares, but there are no solid job leads. Severance pay is done. Unemployment compensation in AZ is a joke, but it's not funny.

We'll be looking for FREE entertainment options. Bike rides are free. Once of the casinos has a free concert tonight. The belt is tightened.

Have you been to NM yet?

Damn, I thought with skills like hers, Cheryl would get a job quickly. Has she considered freelancing? I know how tough it is believe me. It sucks that humans became commodities, resources for the MAN ( ... )

I too have been guilty of less-than-stellar spending practices when I have a few extra bucks. Those times are over.

New Mexico is one of those places I've driven through many times, stopped only for short periods, but would like to make it a destination, especially Sante Fe. NM similar to AZ but different, if that makes sense.

It does makes sense to me, I think it's just the US that divided it, the Native Americans treated it as one I think, barring tribal spats.

I just read about the San Francisco Peaks in AZ and the controversy which the Indians lost concerning using the sacred waters to manufacture snow. Have you ever been there? I would love to see them or however you get there to view and reflect there. It's supposedly the most or one of the most revered places on earth. Since I drive through Flagstaff to get to Taos, I will definitely stop there.
