The Queen and the Soldier

So because of styromgalleries 's fanmix "Secret Burning Thread", I listened to a song called 'The Queen and the Soldier'. It has such a deep meaning and it's so sad. I made this song interpretation of the lyrics, it's just how I interpret it.

I've always wondered if this is something like what's really going on with the song. It's cool to see it all spelled out, though. Very nice.

Thank you, it was hard putting the reactions and insights I had into words because the song just so deep. Glad I got at least the tip of the iceburg (did I use this phrase correctly?)

I think you've covered this song very well - although I've always thought that the lyric at the end, "and while the queen went on strangling in the solitude she prefered" meant that she killed herself, because she couldn't stand to think of the thing she wanted but could never have.

Love this song, good idea!!

But didn't she get the soldier killed BECAUSE she couldn't have him make her want to tear herself apart? But yeah, it's nice to see another perspective of it. Poor Gen soldier.

Thanks for commenting ;).

I thought that she would kill him, and then realize that that wouldn't erase her memories of what he had offered her. I have to think about this...

But the battled continued so wouldn't that mean she's alive?
