I tried but just could not manage the whole 100-word count thing this week. Maybe next week, but my inspiration's been buggering this week too much as is.
She remembered their bites and how they had clawed her flesh. She remembered the savage looks in their wild eyes as they'd made love, and finally Buffy checked the box that read Animal Lover.
I love that each of these are a very different tone from one another. This part - it's so funny and painful at the same time. I'd wondered why Buffy never had a pet on the show, and if maybe having one would have helped circa S6. They recommend pets for people with mild depression, don't they? (Or is that the elderly?) This never occured to me as the reason. OUCH *hugs Buffy* (also, Willow's goldfish. Forgot about those!)
Believe me, being an animal lover, I most certainly didn't! *shudder*
Pets actually help people with a great deal of problems, including, but not limited to, the elderly, handicapped people, people with depression (even severe), suicidal thoughts (which, I guess, kinda goes hand in hand with depression), anxiety, mental problems, stroke victims, a whole slew of things really . . . They've even, in the last couple of years, gotten some dogs trained to help people with Alzheimer's problems. That doesn't even begin to touch on the huge list of health ailments that stroking pets helps to keep away to begin with!
I'm glad you liked my drabblets. Thanks for the comment! :-)
