Oh, that's heartbreaking.

Kendra so obedient, and yet -- the music was there inside her, just waiting.

This is great as a piece- nice character stuff and scene set-up- and as a drabble specifically because not a word is wasted. Excellent read!

Thanks! I had to fiddle a bit to get this down to 100 words exactly, so I'm really glad it still worked. That's one of my favourite things about writing drabbles - you have to think about what each word means and what it does for the story.

Love a little bit of Kendra backstory and this is both sweet and sad. 12 year olds gotta be 12 years old. Poor Kendra, but well done you.

*Is sad* On the one hand, I am angry at him for trying to train the music out of her - on the other, I can't help feeling that he just wanted to keep his (future) Slayer alive as long as possible.
