The phone attracts Angel like a magnet. He wants to hear her voice so much it hurts.
No - he won't be calling her.
But his treacherous hands are already dialing Buffy's number. The number he remembers even after a hundred years in hell.
"Hello?"
Her voice makes him dizzy. She's so close. And so far away. What could he say to her? "How do you do?" Pain. "I draw your face every day?" Pain. "I miss you?" A world of pain.
"Hello?"
Angel slowly hangs up.
