Really true to form that it would take looking mortality in the face for Hank to wise up.

Thanks for the comment and the compliment re: icon. Princess Bride is basically my favorite movie ever. 2 of my icons are Princess Bride ones which doesn't seem like a lot, but when you only have 15 of them they become your life.

I was a little hesitant to write Hank as such a bad guy. When we saw him that one time in WSWB, he didn't seem like such a bad guy, but then we didn't see him again, like, ever, so that shows that he's definitely neglectful. Which is sad and irresponsible. And that's why Buffy needs Giles.

It was when Hank couldn't be bothered to get back to town when Joyce was sick and then dead that he became a bad guy. I was actually thinking of that when I read your drabble, and the irony of him placing the call after he was sick. Neglectful and *selfish*.

Another excellent icon. I'm big with the Princess Bride love, but as I only have SIX icons, space is tight for the faves! :) [And this whole thing causes me to wonder why in the heck I don't have it as an Interest on my Profile. Off to remedy that right now...]

Um, this is true. Any time I mention Buffy getting married, I want to stick something in about Angel. When I was talking about Buffy crying when Giles died, I wanted something about Angel getting her out of bed to go to the funeral. But I resisted that urge because it's supposed to be about Buffy and Giles. Yeah, that was my mantra.

Okay, not such success. I'm a fangirl. Don't sue.
