Drabbles for "A Simpler Life"

It used to be just him, his gang, the streets, and a home-made axe. It was fun - simple.

But then he found his higher purpose, found a new gang, and things got a little more confusing.

Time went on and things changed. He wore a suit to visit a big old cat in a room soaked in white and thought to himself, this isn’t me.

So it took the end of the world to bring him back to the streets. Just his gang against the demons. He was dripping and dying, but at least it was ending where he belonged.

“It’s quiet here,” Anya commented.

“Yes, it is,” Tara replied.

“Don’t you get bored of it?”

Tara smiled. “I like the quiet.”

“Well, I don’t.” Anya pouted. “Is this all we get, for all eternity? I thought heaven was supposed to be fun and pleasurable. I had much more pleasure on earth.”

“You don’t have to seek out pleasure here. Just soak in the calm. It’s a simpler life.”

“This doesn’t qualify as a life.”

Tara sighed. “There’s also a call button for whenever you want chocolate or an orgasm.”

Anya grinned. “Well, why didn’t you tell me that before?”
