Today at 3:30pm was the closing. Dan's mom went for me so I didn't have to make a trip to Atlanta. We just did a power of attorney and she signed all of the papers and stuff. Anyway--I NO LONGER HAVE TO DEAL WITH THAT HOUSE*!!! WOOHOO ( Read more... )

homeowners associations are such bullcrap. It's your house. You should be able to decorate it however the hell you want.

I could understand if it was an issue of decorating, but we're talking about your basic plastic outdoor chairs. Portable, not a fixture at all, totally generic and non offensive... it was unreal. Plus I put pinestraw in all the "garden" areas and then 2 weeks later I'd get a notice "put fresh pinestraw..." HELLO!? I just DID! If I put new pinestraw in as often as they demanded I'd have a mountain of the shit higher than the HOUSE!

I'm sorry, but I don't agree on decorating even. If you want tacky flamingos in your yard, it's your yard. If you want paint your house neon purple, paint it neon purple. As soon as someone else starts covering my mortgage, that person can then dictate what I do with my home. Until then, you don't know me, I do what I want, so to speak.

The people on that association need jobs, really.
