First, I love your beta credits. Poor dears! Second, the 2006, Tuesday, Saturday conversation caught me off guard and set me giggling. Thirdly, this reads exactly like how I feel when I'm dead tired, so way to go on capturing sleepy (and slightly loose) Olivia. I don't read many funny Fringe fics, but this worked so well. And even the semi-serious end is still fun. :)
Hee, there are so many fantastically funny lines in this. I adored the tone. I love your Peter voice. I love that he'd pictured her calling him "a god" before just not in the way it happened. :P I love his muddled view of a utopian society. His ridiculous nicknames and trying to be all sly in rocking her to sleep.
And I like Olivia's thoughts in this too, how in her loopy!sleepy state she was thinking about how much of a good guy he is and wasn't he supposed to be the bad guy? Love love love it. And he got her permission at the end to be her guy...sneaky bastard!
Obviously, she wasn’t a computer - he couldn’t hack in, close out unnecessary programs, save his work, and let her hibernate. This is a completely AWESOME line!! I love it!! He SO would if he could!!
OMG, I am utterly envious of your ability to write banter. That whole first scene is just fantastic -- you had me grinning at "I bring you coffee" / "You're a god" and I pretty much kept going from there.
I was going to quote lines at you that I especially liked, but that'd end up being about half the fic so I guess that sort of defeats the purpose.
Sleep!deprived!Olivia is fun, in that she's slightly more relaxed/goofy than we usually get to see her and as someone who also gets punchy when running on too little sleep, I wholeheartedly relate. :)
That the 'sweetheart' nickname throws her for a few seconds. Hee.
And the ending. Oh, the ending. So. much. love. for the ending that I cannot express it in words.
Haha, I'm SO GLAD that you like it! To be honest the entire time I was writing it I was thinking, "Oh, god, this will make sense to NO ONE but me." So I'm so happy that you like it.
You're welcome! And THANK YOU for organizing all this. It was a lot of fun. :)
Oh no, it makes perfect sense. And while I didn't really have any idea of how I'd like the prompt to play out, I did have a sort of lightness to it in mind, and that's exactly what this was. And then that ending. Perfect.
This ficathon was fun, wasn't it? We'll have to do this again next year! :) Lots of awesome fics to read -- can't go wrong.
