What was once the Earth, filled with hundreds of countries, is now merely one. Mirai. Years have come and gone since humans walked alone with only friends or family. Now many walk a different path with special partners born with each new life onto the limited planet. Special children are born with a friend who will never betray, never compromise a dangerous situation. These beasts are called Sen’yuu and walk alongside the humans as equals until a special item is used to stow them away. It’s unfortunate that some creatures are large enough to require needing to be stored; this is not to say they must be. These Sen’yuu were all the same until a virus hit. An unknown virus with three particular branches; the Shinigami, the Vaizard, and the Arrancar. This virus separates the Sen’yuu from one another. Those infected have gained strength and give their masters the opportunity to use things called Spells. Often spoken, they can be used in battle but are outlawed by the police force.
However, not all is well on the small and thriving country. There is a secret government who follow one man’s rule. Sosuke Aizen, the leader of those with the Arrancar Virus. He has been planning since the start of the virus infection the demise of the country, wanting to take it over for himself. There are many following him, most of hidden name and origin, who mingle with the Shinigami and Vaizard infected, sitting and waiting for the time to strike. Under Aizen’s hand, he has scientifically created levels of the Arrancar Virus. The average Arrancar, whose Sen’yuu have small holes somewhere on their body and white, calcium based shapes by their faces, and the Espada. The Espada are the same as the Arrancar, except for one difference; their strength. There are only ten Espada created to fill his army and take on the ranks soon to be known as High Imperials. These are the humans who will help to take over the country following their leaders orders.
So far, there has been much worry over a leaked specimen called a Hollow. Hollow’s a vicious creatures that have little sense of self and are those masters and Sen’yuu misfortunate enough to have been born together at birth. Originally they appeared as a human merely without a Sen’yuu, but as years came to pass and the human grew, they took a new path. After loosing the most of their soul, holes came to exist on their body. Hard, bone-like structures also appeared and these humans became empty beings that looked more like monsters.
And then there are those who defend against the leaked beasts. The humans with the Shingami or Vaizard Virus. The Shinigami are an elite group of humans who have the ability of spoken Spells and strength through their Sen‘yuu. They, under Shigekuni Yamamoto-Genryusai, are sent out to live among the Regular humans to protect what is left of the Earth. These saviors are called the Gotei 13, and stationed around Mirai are thirteen bases, headed by a Taichou (Captain) or Fukutaichou (Vice-Captain). While there are these bases, it’s advised to get out and live among the Regular’s to keep them safe. Dispatch can be released for back up if needed, and so many of the Gotei 13 members live in the normal house or apartment.
The branch of virus contracted is, essentially, random. Some might be exposed to it for years and never turn over, while others might contract it instantly. The most common Virus is the Shinigami, but quickly are being caught up to by Arrancar as Aizen continues to create this plague. The Vaizard, however, are on their own. Their strain is very, very rare, and only consist of about eight or nine humans and their Sen‘yuu. There is no known cause for the Vaizard, though some may speculate they are not entirely one virus or another.
