I had a speaking test today on Japanese prices.

I kinda fucked it up cause I forgot some vocab and took too long trying to think of it so had  to submit the attempt I done where I paused for ages and urgh it was kinda painful.

At first I wasn't so bothered I fucked it up but now I'm a little bit disappointed in myself.

I guess today also I miss home a ( Read more... )

Hey, don't worry about it. Can't be that bad. Speaking test is by far the worst anyway; writing you need to know the rules, reading and listening are all there for you, but in speaking you need to be able to improvise on the spot. I feel for you, I have midterms next week. We've got a listening test, a writing one and a straight up kanji test, which I am going to fail so hard if I don't do some serious practise this weekend.

Thanks ^__^

Ooh I feel for you D8 We've had two speaking tests now and soon too listening tests!

With your kanji is it just meaning or do you have to be able to write them now too?

Well we have a weekly kanji test anyway (we're using Basic Kanji Book vol 1). The tests are a single sheet, around 5 mins. It's a mixture of writing the correct kanji, writing the meaning below in English, and writing the correct reading above in furigana. Presumably our midterm one will be like that but longer.

Aw, it's okay. I also didn't do so well in a speaking test recently. I followed the structure I was given almost exactly, but apparently I was supposed to say はじめまして and どぞよろしく. I can't recall the teacher ever saying that we had to say it, nor was it on the paper of what we had to say, and as I went first, I didn't say it. When I was done, my teacher said that those words were actually more important than the content itself because the Japanese are so obsessed with politeness. So I know how you feel. The only thing I can tell you is not to worry about it, and focus on doing better the next time. I know you can do it! 8D

And about homesickness, it's okay to feel that way! I realize it sucks, but it'll pass!

Good luck with everything!
