I enjoyed reading this, even though I can't duplicate it, and have not yet cultivated a taste fro kale or collard greens (though I have learned to enjoy cooked spinach in small, mixed-in doses). It looks fantastic on the plate. I agree that anywhere we go, everything will acquire a slightly different flavor, but we'll be eating it there, and it's not like a Chef is going to be judging the food against his childhood favorites... or perhaps one is, and that's part of the story.

I'd eat it.

Collards, especially cooked like this are probably pretty easy to acquire a taste for. The pan trimmings even more than the stuffing. Kale is odd, I think I only added it for variety.

The thing with non terrestrial life is that some foods might not grow at all, and mixing in plants, fungus and animals from that plane would alter the flavor, texture, aroma, and appearance as well. I mean take collards for example, on a terraformed planet 100ly away with lighter gravity and a more active hydrosphere it might produce leaves that are thick and sap filled...
