I'd like to donate some money to Cuba, Jamaica and Haiti, but it's hard to find a charity to trust. I don't like funding sprawling administrations or proselytising. And my blood is no good since I'm on the other side of the world. I must start donating blood in general again actually. It a simple and free good thing to do, but I have never gotten around to it since I moved to London.

I'm pretty sure the Red Cross is involved there, too. If you want to check on a charity, look at "charity watch" (I think). You can see what percentage of the money is administrative costs (shouldn't be more than 10%-15%).

Blood donation is always welcome anywhere! I just have to find someplace here to donate myself. I used to donate all the time.
