Day One on the Circle Pad Pro. Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance will be making use of it, so I have no real option.

I pre-ordered the Resident Evil: Revelations Circle Pad Pro bundle a short while ago that's set for release on January 27th, so I'm quite curious to see how it handles.

"...relatively soon?"
Don't count on it, the earliest I would expect it would be 2013, but hey I could be wrong.

Nintendo's past releases suggest otherwise.

Nintendo likes to keep their hardware business fresh. There was only a year and a half between the original DS and the DS lite. Then the Wii launched in late 2006. The DSi appeared in April of 2009, with the DSi XL waltzing in less than a year later. The 3DS showed up 364 after that, with the reconfigured Wiis launching in NA four months later.

Nintendo loves to launch hardware in late Q1/early Q2. Most industry people have a hunch that the Wii U will appear in late Q4 of this year...which leaves March - June wide open again. And considering that the handheld has picked up some serious momentum now, I think you just might see Nintendo pull a rabbit out of their hat in Q2 of this year.

Ugh I so wish they had just put the second stick on the damn thing to begin with. The circle pad pro looks so terrible.
