I think it's a pretty good idea. It saves a few bucks for people who think the 3DS is too expensive and it seems to be aimed specifically at children so parents that have reservations about the 3D part of the 3DS won't be as worried.

Also it's pretty cute.

I would consider it. I hate the 3D fad so I have been holding off on buying a 3DS, but I have a few games I want to play and this would be cheaper. I don't do handheld gaming much anymore.

While it'd be great not having to spend money on a feature I'd never use, I'd rather shell out the extra 30-70 bucks for having the clamshell design :/ Much easier to tote around and less chance of damaging a screen if I drop it.

Im not really digging it. I dont think its as travel-friendly as the DS/3D-DS etcetc. I can understand why people would like it/want it though. But I like the connivence and less space that my 3D-DS takes up in my purse hahaha.
