May 07, 2012 14:03

Per the results of last week's poll, the ONTD Games Game of the Month for May 2012 is Diablo 3. But since that game doesn't hit until mid-month, we'll be discussing Xenoblade Chronicles for the next two Mondays, and if there's call for it we'll just have additional Monday Xenoblade discussions alongside Tuesday Diablo discussions for the remainder ( Read more... )

I loved this game. The music was amazing. Fiora is my favorite character to use. I can't say enough about it except that it was one of the very few console JRPGs this generation that I actually enjoyed (Valkyria Chronicles being the only other I can fondly remember). Plus it gave me a reason to actually set up the Wii again.

I 100% percent agree with all of this (YES Valkyria Chronicles, too) except that I LOVE LOVE LOVE Reyn. :)

I've had it since release but I won't actually have a Wii to play it on until this Friday, lol. Perfect timing!

Got about twenty hours in and I won't be able to play again until August, but I LOVE how absolutely massive the overworld is. And it's not just one area, but each successive place you visit is similarly ridiculous.

I like the protagonists as well, seeing them interact is a breath of fresh air from some of the stale scripts in RPGs I've recently been playing. x_x

Dunno if there's a setting for it but I wish you could skip through some of the Monado visions. I mean you're in the heat of battle, every second counts, and you don't know precisely when you'll get to be in control of your character again in order to react.

My only real complaint is that time has definitely caught up to the game. I actually upgraded my TV (from an 8-year-old brick, I needed it XD) to be able to see the text on the screen and got a feel for how terrible Wii games look on a high-def screen. (>_<)

Does everyone eventually auto-attack a little bit faster than they do initially? It's quite a drag waiting around for those gauges to fill.

Do you have component cables for the Wii? They make it look less terrible.

For faster auto-attack, you can get Haste and Double Attack gems.

Not yet! I'll grab those next. :D

Thanks for the advice, I finally know what those particular gems do. @__@

Second the component cables. They took Skyward Sword from looking like...well, shit...to looking manageable. It still won't be as good as on a CRT screen, but it'll definitely be more acceptable.

Love this game! My favorite character in general is Dunban (or Dunban Uzuki as us long time Xeno fans call him) since he reminds me of Citan and Jin Uzuki. I also like Riki a lot, I was surprised to see how LEGIT he is in battle and he's just darn cute -- his theme song is the BEST.

I'm about 11 hours in and I'm liking it so far. Still not entirely sure about the battle system (which becomes a mess with more than 3 enemies on the screen) but there is a lot to like otherwise.
