*_* I love this game. It had such a fantastic story and clever puzzles. I still have my copy on Dreamcast, but I'd totally be willing to buy it again from GOG.
The Environment, Design, Plot, and Voice Acting were top notch. However I always felt it should have transitioned better. Granted you can only put so much into an at the time high end game of it's caliber, I feel this is one series that deserves a remastering. You can get away with the graphics but the gameplay and enemies could be adjusted to be more forgiving on platforming, and more difficult for enemy encounters. As I recall you were pretty much unkillable, but that didn't help when you fell 2 or 3 stories and have to get back up again. Never the less it's still some of the best dialogues in gaming.
Also I'd wonder what Japan would think of this game. As far as I can tell it was never release/localized over there.
The Intro still gives me chills Also the song is from Information Society - Ozar Midrashim 1.1 it gives such a dark gothic sound to the game.
I disagree on some of your thoughts regarding the game game design (I like my games to be frustratingly hard-) but I can confirm that the SERIES does have some kind of following in Japan, though SR itself was never released there (SR2 was, with a story recap video that you could watch before playing the game.)
And omg I was SO obsessed with Ozar Midrashim that I actually pulled Kurt Harland aside at a goth club that we both happened to both be at and talked his ear off about it, lol.
I want to start some revolution and take back the LoK tumblr tag. My LoK tracker blew up and I got excited thinking it was all this influx of Legacy of Kain stuff. Nope. Just Avatar: Legend of Korra. It's not bad. I like the show but I was more excited thinking it was Soul Reaver. :(
I really wouldn't want a reboot, I just want a remastering, maybe with more enemies and a more consistent flow through the interchanging games, like say making SR-SR2 into one.
